The glamour absent…

I remember never fully understanding the Glamour Shots movement of the 90’s (the company is still around!).  You know, the photography shops that would practically put you in costume and take your picture?  They would have a cowgirl or “uptown girl” motif.   Most often the looks were overstated and somewhat prosaic.  Although, I’m sure there may still be those who enjoy these photographs, they were never my style.

The glamour absent from Glamour Shots is captured by Roger James of Los Angeles, California.  A photographer and artist, James photographs his subjects capturing the glamour of regency Hollywood.  He dresses the subjects and designs the sets.  Apparently, for a tidy fee, you can enlist James to alter your look for an exquisite photo.  One would concede that his designs are also costumes, but, with the refinement and sophistication lacking elsewhere.  I'm still not likely to do this sort of thing.  But, I can certainly better understand why others might.  Take a look at these before and afters.
