The Upper West Side

After my earlier post about Celerie Kemble's fashionable re-design, I had to give you a glimpse (for those of you who have never been) of the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

When I was in my second and last semester of tax school, I was feeling serious burnout from studying for exams.  For me, there was always a period around 4 weeks in but two weeks to go when you knew you should be focused and stressed, but the marathon struggle was setting in.  I was having such a day on a Sunday afternoon, when I decided I would explore the Upper West Side.

You've seen this park (if you are like me, 10 million times over!) in Warner Bros. You Got Mail (1998).  Brinkley and Joe Fox meet the adorable Kathleen Kelly at the beautiful bend.  Do you remember?
"How about meeting Saturday? The first
day of spring. 4 P.M. There's a place
in Riverside Park at 88th Street where
the path curves; when you come around
the curve, you'll find me waiting."

If you find yourself in Manhattan, don't miss this park.  Its just a hop on the subway--from Bryant Park take the 7 train to the 1 train up to 72nd Street.

Eleanor Roosevelt - 72nd Street
(I had to take my parents to enjoy the sights.)
