Hard to avoid this trivialized poster. It is reproduced in mass on posters, mugs, pillows, and greeting cards. So inspiring to hear of its origin. Good to recognize that simplicity of design and depth of meaning are welcome yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Around the Corner
I was delighted to find this Pastry Platter maker, Deva and Mohini, just around the corner from Orlando in Alachua—a place very near my alma mater. Aren’t they awesome? So clever. Not sure which is my favorite…so tempting to snag one!

A Little Inspiration
My life has seemed to lack inspiration lately (you’ve likely noticed my silence). No matter, we are going to be inspired! Thought we’d celebrate my garden—with merit owing less to a green thumb than wonderful weather and hardy plants. Several weekends ago, it was my “weekend design” to address 14 feet of running dirt along the back of my cottage. Now, weeks into rooting, the addition is better than expected. I hoped for a linear effect with the mother-in-law’s tongue and the color with the impatiens. Perfectly contented in the northern exposure, results obtained.

Terrarium
Filled my bird cage with plants, terrarium style, for a splash of green and intricacy on the coffee table. Appenberry’s, a local nursery, has a host of options of mini potted plants. The african violet is a welcome addition to the ferns. Many of the minis require a constant mist of watering, making them mildly high maintenance. Other than moisture, no care is required. Minimum investment, full satisfaction.
