The Forty Block Walk

Enjoying the outdoors today, I began to miss my forty block walk in Manhattan.  What became a habit, was at first an attempt to leave my dorm room and enjoy something other than the Internal Revenue Code.  So it began that my darling roommate and I would walk, steadily up the middle of Manhattan.  Starting at Mercer Street and 3rd, we would head west to 5th Avenue, to pass the then under construction Washington Park   Our walk would take us to 42nd street to admire the beautiful New York Library and back.  But imagine, in forty New York blocks, our "daily treadmill" was blessed with the likes of these beautiful landmarks...

The sights include no less than Washington Square, Madison Square Park, the Empire State Building, and the New York Public Library at 42nd and 5th.  Walking was merely an excuse to enjoy these breathtaking sights!

MAY I HAVE THE PLEASURE

Of introducing myself?  As a young, newly minted tax attorney, I have found my life hurried by the pace of the legal profession--the perfection, deadlines, and mental aerobics.  The legal world is all-encompassing and makes decided attempts to dictate one's every waking moment.  My legal education has genuinely fascinated my sensibilities; tax law, as unbelievable as it may sound, is as creative as it is rote.  Yet, there are elements of my creativity that aren't satisfied by the transactional work of my everyday.  So here, in the WEEKEND DESIGN, I have sought to satisfy my creativity and put words to the projects, inspirations, dreams, and plans that engulf my weekends and definitively, with whomever may listen, indulge in the world of design.
